Turning Trees Into Treasures

 Guests who purchase 2 tickets for $100 for our virtual Gala will receive a locally, hand-crafted wood board* made by local sophomore, Zachary. He started working with wood at age 9, quickly loving to work with the lath. As a teen, he turned what started as a hobby into a home-based business with his own woodworking shop, making boards, which he sells at local bazaars. His mother, Angela, shared, “He is blessed to have the flexibility to have a business since he is homeschooled. When he isn't in his shop, he can be found playing with his 6 siblings still at home, volunteering at Birch Community Services, or in his house in the woods.... that, yes, he built himself too!” We were delighted to support Zachary by buying his boards for this year’s gala. Each is truly a work of art – you’ll think so, too!
